This solar bollard light features a built-in 0.6W photo-electric cell solar panel, providing an eco-friendly lighting solution that harnesses the power of the sun. The light is equipped with 13 high-efficiency SMD LEDs, delivering 2.6W of power and producing a bright 350 lumens output. The light's operation is optimized by three 800mAh NiMH batteries, ensuring 6-8 hours of illumination at night when fully charged, although this duration may be reduced in winter months.
The motion sensor is a key feature, utilizing pyro-electric infrared technology to offer two modes of operation. When motion is detected, the light switches from a warm white at low brightness to a cool white at high brightness, running for one minute per activation. This ensures enhanced visibility and security when needed while maintaining an inviting ambiance the rest of the time.
Installation is straightforward and versatile with the included surface mount and spike options. The bollard stands at 450mm tall, with an option to extend the height by purchasing the Solar Bollard Extension - Stainless Steel 1m. Two mode motion activation:
Mode 1 (low brightness): a single LED is triggered by the photo-electric cell at dusk, and remains on for the duration of the night. This provides a pleasant ambience as well as enough light to know where you’re heading.
Mode 2 (high brightness): when the motion sensor detects movement, all remaining LEDs are activated, giving a bright, wide-area bright light for you to see exactly what you’re doing. Once triggered, an electronic timer keeps the full complement of LEDs on for 1 minute, even when you’ve walked out of the motion sensors range – so you won’t be surprised by a sudden loss of light when you might need it most. After a minute, the light returns to Mode 1 until the motion sensor is triggered again and the process is repeated.
The two modes means you can have the solar light operational for the night, even if the day was not fully sunny.
